Whether you’re selling your house or not, this time of year can have you thinking about spring updates for your home. Everybody wants to freshen things up a bit – but maybe you’re not ready for a full-scale renovation or deep project just yet. That’s ok! There are lots of spring updates that will dramatically transform your home, without causing a lot of drama. We thought we’d share some of our favorites!
Spring Updates we love:
- Throw some color in there! If you’re getting tired of how a room looks, try some new décor pieces. New throw pillows with some spring patterns are a favorite – you don’t have to keep the same pillows all year round. Same with bedspreads, curtains, and even table accessories. These are relatively cheap and will only take you an afternoon to switch, but you’ll feel like you’re in a whole new space.
- Fresh paint. You probably know the power of a fresh coat of paint. It can completely transform a space. From inside, to outside – because honestly, if you get the outside of your house repainted, that’s a dramatic spring update. Your neighbors will wonder if it’s even the same house.
- Move the furniture. It’s not even new stuff. But moving things around can give you that fresh look more than you might think!
- Buy a new rug. Similar to adding color with pillows and curtains, a rug can change how a room feels, even size-wise. Adding a light rug over a dark wood floor for example can make it feel bigger and airy, or adding a darker rug over a light floor can bring some depth and warmth. Try it!
